Secret voting

This scheme of work encourages learners to think about the importance of secret voting within a democracy. It aims to get young people thinking about the differences between opinions shared in public and those shared in private and pushes them to consider what relevance this might have for democratic elections.

The scheme of work is made up of an assembly, which can be delivered by a teacher or learners, and which contains an activity designed to make learners reflect on how their answers to big questions change if they are allowed to answer in secret.
