London democracy week

London Democracy Week highlights the many ways Londoners can get involved in civic and democratic life, from hyperlocal neighbourhood initiatives to citywide and national participation.

The campaign aims to give all Londoners the confidence, awareness and opportunity to take part in democratic life, while removing the barriers that disproportionately affect under-represented groups, with a particular focus on young people. The week aims to build understanding of the many routes into participation, from volunteering as a magistrate to engaging with elected representatives.

Participants can take part through voter-registration stalls, assemblies and workshops in schools and colleges, a citywide digital campaign, and in-person events for civil society organisations, funders and academics.

London Democracy Week is led by the Greater London Authority, delivered in partnership with a pan-London coalition of civil society organisations, education institutions and libraries, and in coordination with London boroughs and statutory partners.
