First steps into democracy: What is the Northern Ireland Assembly?

This scheme of work introduces primary school learners to the Northern Irish Assembly and its buildings, members, and constituencies. By the end of the scheme of work, primary schooler learners should have an awareness of Stormont, what happens there, and who works there.

The scheme of work is composed of a set of online, interact worksheets through which young people engage creatively with key aspects of the Northern Irish political system and begin to research it for themselves. It was made by Just2Easy with funding from the Electoral Commission and is accessible to schools in Northern Ireland through the C2k schools network.
