Be Internet citizens community toolkit

This scheme of work supports learners to develop the knowledge, skills, and awareness needed to be responsible and active digital citizens. By the end of the scheme of work, learners should have a greater understanding of how online content and behaviour can affect individuals and society, as well as how they can respond constructively to challenges such as misinformation, media bias, stereotyping, and online hate.
In completing the scheme of work, learners will explore concepts including the ‘Good Web’, free speech and hate speech, unconscious bias, filter bubbles, and misinformation and disinformation. They will take part in discussions, group activities, and role-play before reflecting on what good digital citizenship should look like.
The scheme of work forms part of the ‘Be Internet Citizens community toolkit’ and is designed to be delivered as a programme of connected lessons.
