The Association for Citizenship Education is launching a new programme in collaboration with the Electoral Commission to strengthen democratic education for young people across England.
They will be developing a package of democratic education support spanning primary, secondary and post-16 education. This will include citizenship and democracy education toolkits, activities and simulations, assemblies, teacher guidance on impartiality and targeted CPD, all with a focus on building knowledge, skills and confidence.
They are recruiting a small group of schools and colleges to pilot these resources across all KS1, KS2, KS3, KS4 and post-16. Pilot schools and colleges will have early access to draft resources, opportunities to feedback directly into development, and the chance to help shape national democratic education support.
Each pilot school or college will need to commit a minimum of 30 pupils to take part.
