This presentation supports delivery of a lesson introducing students to the concept of democracy and its importance in everyday life. It includes teacher guidance, discussion prompts, interactive activities and opportunities for students to explore the meaning of democracy, its development over time, the features of democratic countries, and the roles of Parliament and Government. Designed for Key Stage 3, it can be used as part of the Introduction to Democracy scheme of work or as a standalone resource.
