What is a general election?

This presentation supports delivery of a lesson comparing local and central government in the UK. It includes teacher guidance, discussion activities and classroom tasks that help students understand the responsibilities of each level of government, how local authorities make and spend money, and how young people can influence local decision-makers. Designed for Key Stage 3, it can be used independently or within the wider scheme of work.
