Who stands for what? Understanding UK political parties

This standalone lesson covers the politics parties and the left–right spectrum. Learners will explore what a political party is, compare major UK parties, and locate them on a simplified left–right scale.

Through an artefact activity, a mini-teach, and an interactive matching task, learners will understand how parties differ on key issues. A reflection activity will help them see why this matters for democracy and their future as voters.
