Votes at 16: Upper primary short lesson

This lesson covers whether 16 year olds should be able to vote. Learners will learn about the purpose of voting and the differences in voting ages across the UK, before participating in a range of activities that encourage them to reflect on what 16 and 17 year olds are already able to do and whether they should be able to vote.

It can be delivered as a standalone session or as part of a series along with the rest of the VotesForSchools assemblies.
