Who runs the UK?

Students reinforce their understanding of what the UK is. They learn about the difference between the Government and Parliament, and find out about the House of Commons, the House of Lords and the role of the monarch. They watch a video about how Parliament holds the Government to account and discuss as a class whether they think Parliament is effective. To relate what they have learnt to the upcoming general election, students research their local MP.
