If You Have a Voice You Have a Choice

This lesson plan accompanies the DEN of ENQUIRY podcast: If You Have a Voice You Have a Choice  (September 2021).

Through analysing the poem 'If You Have a Voice You Have a Choice' students are encouraged to think about the differences between a democracy and a dictatorship, and the rights we have in a democracy to express our political voice. It can also be used to start a discussion about bullying. Aimed at Years 5-7, ages 9-12. Duration: 30-40 minutes or as an assembly.

DEN of ENQUIRY is a podcast for 9-12 year olds that uses original poetry and drama-inspired games to open up conversations about democracy, the rule of the law and individual liberty.
