Talking to Young People with Learning Disabilities About Voting and the Senedd Election

Learning Disability Wales, in partnership with the Senedd Education Team, is offering a free joint training session for teachers and education practitioners.

This interactive session will focus on how to talk to young people with learning disabilities about the Senedd election and voting in a way that is accessible, inclusive, and empowering.

The session will cover:

Understanding the Senedd and the Senedd election in simple, accessible terms
Supporting young people with learning disabilities to engage with democratic processes
Practical approaches, language, and resources for the classroom
Building confidence to have open, neutral conversations about voting and participation
The session is designed for teachers, ALN leads, and education staff working with young people with learning disabilities. It will include practical examples and opportunities for discussion.
